College football is officially back and in full swing! There’s been a lot of excitement in this 2022 season so far, with one major upset being the Marshall Thundering Herd defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 26-21 on their own turf!
20-Point Underdogs Take the W
Notre Dame was favored to win this early September game, not only because they were playing at home, but because the Marshall Thundering Herd weren’t even ranked in the Top 25 teams of the division. Even after their win over the No. 9 ranked Fighting Irish, Marshall is only ranked No. 26. This is the franchise’s first victory over a Top 10 team since 2003 when the Herd defeated Kansas State.
