After many renovations, the current stadium's seating capacity holds 52,692. The Indiana Hoosiers football program began in 1887, and the team competes in the Big Ten Conference. Established in 1820 as the Indiana State Seminary, eight years later the name was changed to Indiana College and officially changed to Indiana University in 1838. Indiana University enrolls over 110,000 students at all IU campuses.
