After a year with zero attendance, the Wolfpack Nation witnessed a strong start to their season with a 45-0 shutout victory over the University of South Florida. NC State Athletics began with the football program in 1892, with a game between students from the North Carolina Agricultural and Mechanical College and the Raleigh Male Academy, on the grounds of what is now Pullen Park. From those humble beginnings, NC State University has been competing at the highest level of college athletics for more than a century.
