Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame Stadium
This panoramic photo captures the team runout at Notre Dame Stadium for the matchup between the Fighting Irish and the Stanford Cardinal. The historic Notre Dame Stadium opened in 1930 in the Knute Rockne era and has housed a successful football program with a legacy of 11 national titles and 7 Heisman Trophy winners. Renovations have increased the seating capacity from the original 54,000 to 80,795. The illuminated figure above the north end zone, in the center of the photo, is the iconic artwork nicknamed "Touchdown Jesus". This 134-foot tall "World of Life" mural is located outside of the stadium, in the Hesburgh Library.
