The sell-out crowd witnessed the championship banner raising on what was a memorable and emotional evening for the team and its faithful fans. The ceremony capped a summer of celebration that featured a victory parade down Constitution Avenue and a day with the Stanley Cup® for all team members. Following the ceremony, the Capitals began their title defense in their home opener against Eastern Conference rival Boston Bruins®.
